I normally offer new clients a free 15 minutes consultation or a 50 minutes video consultation for a reduced rate of just £35. I invite you to arrange this by getting in touch, using the details below. This gives us an opportunity to meet, and for us to decide if we are a good fit to work together. We can explore what I can offer, the support you are wanting, and how you feel when we connect. Before your free consultation, it will be helpful for you to read through the information below; this will give you some additional information before we talk.
There is no obligation for you to enter into therapy, and it may be that I can refer you to a more suited colleague - the most important thing is that you feel comfortable with the therapist who you choose. If the right person for you isn't me, I will be happy to support you to find the right therapist.
I look forward to meeting you.

What happens at the first session?
The first session is a chance for us to meet and provides us both with an opportunity to get a sense of each other. It also allows me to gain some understanding of the issues you are facing and what you hope to gain from counselling. I'll ask you what you're looking for and briefly why you're thinking about counselling or therapy. Remember you choose how much you want to say or not. I appreciate that contacting a counsellor is a big step for most people. Please feel free at any stage to ask any questions that you may have or ask me to clarify anything that you don't understand. You'll also start to get a sense of how I work.
A successful therapeutic relationship depends on a ‘good fit’ between client and counsellor. So, it is vital that you feel safe with me and the initial session, is a good way for us to see if we feel able to work together and for us to explore how best I can support you. If we do decide to proceed together, then we can confirm a regular day and time that works for us both.
If I believe that the issues you are facing exceed my professional capabilities, or if you feel that I am not the right counsellor for you, I will endeavour to refer you on to a counsellor/psychotherapist with the relevant expertise, or potential relational qualities, that may be more suited to your requirements.
If for any reason we don't think I am the right therapist for you I will aim to point you in the right direction.
